Audience with Yaaga
“Have you been sleeping with my son? Eyes never lie I saw you coming out of his room in a skimpy dress?”
She got panicky;
“I am very sorry I did not mean to he asked me to dance traditional ethnic dances of the people to relax his mind I agreed and he was in very high spirit and enjoyed it very well one thing lead to another until we finally slept I overstepped my boundary Taaru should not hear of it I don’t want to betray my benefactor what have I done? I have to leave before I cause more harm I am very evil.” She wanted to run away but to her surprise Paapa laughed and took a softer tone.
“No you have not done anything wrong; since you came into this household did you notice anything wrong?”
“No Sir I did not.”
“The cry of small children, no male child for that matter; I have a lone son Jambi and I am the head of a traditional household my family holds the ancestral tool of our community since time immemorial and I am on the verge of losing it if my son does not bear a male issue; this is a big chance for you my son behaves as a eunuch not interested in any other woman but his wife Taaru and his Holly Wood job, Taaru is a great person, respectable and loyal but she refuses to get pregnant to give my son the coveted prize a son, she has one witty, intelligent daughter but that does not solve my problem she is a daughter and not a son; can you promise to give a son to my Jambi? If you do your life will change forever I am a Billionaire I’ll make not only you but your whole family get out of poverty forever you need not marry him but just be his mistress you have arouse his manhood and you have become the perfect prayer we sort for all these years, don’t give him breathing space sexually engaged him you’ll soon get pregnant and it will be a win-win situation.” He parted her back fondly and said; “God bless you my daughter.”
She did as Paapa advised and attached to Jambi who did it three times a day as medicine it was made easy when Taaru travelled shortly to visit her aunt and pastor in another town. The dastardly act was hidden from Maama Linguerre.
He secretly called Jambi and encouraged him all the more;
“God supports our action Taaru travelled giving you free license to enjoy the cook to your satisfaction she looks a fertile woman with huge hips I want to see results get her pregnant the soonest.”
“I feel guilty how can I do this to my dear wife? She is loyal and faithful to me since our marriage 10 years ago. I feel dirty and filthy not to her best friend whom she picked from the gutter, I can have sex with her to satisfy your ego but cannot take her as a second wife that is out of the equation, never!”
“Who is talking about marriage? No the issue here is to get her pregnant for a son and she leaves I’ll pay her well and she leaves the boy with Taaru if she really love and care about you she’ll supervise his nannying as her own son but if she is jealous Yaaga will nanny our son in his father’ house and after exclusive breast feeding she has been well paid off and she leaves; meanwhile you manage your family and spoilt Taaru to make her forget her so-called betrayal. You are a man not a woman don’t be sentimental I am here to support you 100%. Let keep our little secret to ourselves your mom is Taaru’ loyalist keep her out of it.”
“Will you?” He is not sure whether he’ll be able to handle it; Paapa shook his head.
She visited her Pastor aunt who told her a revelation as a psychologist Aunt Vicky knows that not all is right with her niece and God Child she took her into her inner chamber and asked her to spill the bin.
“Aunty you are very right not everything is well in my matrimonial home. My mother in law is an angel she holds me like her own always watching my back but my Jambi is going or has already gone; as for my father in law he is a patriarch whatever he says should be obeyed without question and he is hell bound for a male child either by hook or crook my husband is under pressure either to marry a second wife which I doubt or takes a mistress for a male issue in either case what should I do to manage such a conflict flight or fight?”
“I am a Pastor by calling but a Marriage Counselor by profession don’t fight act with prudence wait for confirmation of your fears then prick your husband’ conscience then that of your benefactee then together with your mother in law who is loyal and faithful to you then you come with Seela come on vocation to me unbeknown to them let them feel your absence and the gap you have created let your husband realized your worth.”
“I’ll observe him all the more to ascertain whether what I am suspecting is a reality.”
“The devil will be disgrace and put to shame in Jesus’ name.”
