Abubacar Tambadou, the Minister of Justice on Friday August 16th disclosed during a dialogue with victims of the former Government, that Senegalese donated fund meant for the TRRC process, will be used to support the healthcare of victims.

Justice Minister Tambadou made these remarks at the Victim’s Centre in Kololi, where the Victims raised concerns regarding the release of four soldiers referred as ‘Junglers’. He said his Ministry, the TRRC and UNDP, have together launched a ‘Victim Trust Fund’ (VTF)some weeks ago to enable them assist sick victims including those who need support.

“Senegal has donated funds for the TRRC process. But I informed the President that this fund will be put into a VTF which he agreed to,’’ he told the victims; that “the fund will go through the TRRC who will work with centre to take care of the victim’s healthcare,’’

“The TRRC is here for you (victims). Therefore, allow them to do their work,’’ Justice Minister Tambadou said. He however warned those who are mocking them to desist from such; that if not action will be taken against them. He said such acts will affect the reconciliation that everyone is yearning for.

He urged them to be patient with the TRRC; that they sent a team to Rwanda to work with an organization and observe how they did theirs; that they will let them know when the team returns.
