Jallow nominated as Gambia delegate to AAG


By Sulayman Bah Gambia Volleyball Federation’s Bai Doudou Jallow has been nominated by Confederation of African Volleyball as delegate to the All Africa Games. The 39-year-old’s nomination to the Congo Brazzaville Games makes him the first ever Gambian to be categorized among the continent’s best interntional referees. Jallow will accompany Gambia national Men team to the 11th All Africa Games beginning 1-15th September 2015 in what will be the country’s maiden international appearance in volleyball competition. ‘I am grateful and honored to accompany the Gambia delegation to the All Africa Games and I am ready for the uphill challenge. This is the first time I am going to an indoor volleyball competition at the continental level, I am doing my physical preparation and sure it would be a successful debut appearance for me,’ Jallow who turned an international referee 2011, said in delight. Bai Doudou became an international arbiter after undergoing an 11-day refereeing course organized by the Federation of International Volleyball and the Confederation of African Volleyball in Nigeria. On state of the Gambian team’s preparation ahead of the continental showdown, Jallow, second vice president of the Gambia Volleyball Federation said: ‘I think the players are ready and I am sure if all the support is rendered, we can make history again.’ He concludes: ‘All Africa Games is a government funded program and we are in talk with the Government through the National Sports council. The Government has taken the responsibility and they had processed all the accreditation for the players and the officials and now we are waiting for the processing of the air tickets and other logistics’]]>
