Gambia Pegged Back, Bruised Captain Ceesay Named Man-of-the-Match

By Sulayman Bah

Matarr Ceesay was yesterday evening named man-of-the-match in a game Mali fought back to draw Gambia in the ongoing Wafu U-20.

The Casa Sport central midfielder put Gambia’s U20s ahead with a brilliant header in the 32nd minute, ten minutes after the water break.

Consequently, the Scorpions under gaffer Matarr M’Boge went into the hiatus a goal up.
The Malians launched a-come-from-behind to force a share of the booty four minutes to added time courtesy of a penalty poked in by Saidou Konneh.

Earlier in the duel, Gambia’s Lamin Saidykhan and Tijan Marr went into the arbiter’s booklet for unsporting behaviour.

The tournament, of which Gambia are defending champions, is being staged in Guinea Conakry.
