Throwing in the towel is not for Ebrima Bojang as the striker still dreams of featuring for Gambia’s national team despite a ten-year run-in with a knee injury.

Touted one of the best forwards ever produced on Gambian soil, Bojang was part of the 2009 Baby Scorpions U-17s who won the African Youth Championship in Algeria.

He picked up the golden boot on four goals interesting the calibre of Inter Milan and Tottenham but ended up inking a four-year-deal with St Etienne of the French Ligue1.

However, he has recuperated in a development that could only be viewed as welcomed news for fans and the striker’s teeming Gambians followers.

In a start towards self-redemption, the former Monaco transfer target signed a contract with a French fourth tier side days ago as he targets propelling back to the top level.

‘I miss the Gambian people and the Gambian jersey but nevertheless it is God who decided it this way (with his injuries). Whatever God decides that is what we must accept. Thank God I’m still on my feet and special prayers to my mum and fans,’ he said in a detailed emotional tell-all interview with Foroyaa Sport.

‘I just pray for a good health. And I will like to thank my fans in Gambia each time I come across them they wish me good luck. I wish to wear the Gambian jersey (again).

‘I’m doing my best to play in the Gambian first team and I asked for the prayers of everyone and may God protect me from injuries (again). I say big thank you to my family for standing by me in both good and bad times and thank you for the Interview too,’ the 27-year-old tells Foroyaa Sport from his France base.
