The information received at the Foroyaa office reveals that on both banks of the country people either prayed on different days or did not pray at all. Some even prayed on Saturday and slaughtered their sheep on Sunday. On a day when people should be free from stress, tension ruled the minds and hearts of many people. Many prayed on a day that was not of their choosing. Others wanted to pray on a day of their choosing but could not do so. Confusion gripped many minds and instead of many sharing the joys of the day, they instead were lamenting that they could not freely exercise their rights to religious freedom and practice. The Government should therefore review its policy and find a more reasonable way of promoting unity among members of the same faith. The current policy is a fetter to religious practice and needs review.]]>
