She went to Mama Hoyan and confessed her sin;
“Why did you wrongfully send my elder sister away from her father’s home? You were too harsh; would you believe me when I tell you that I was the one causing the havoc all the way through Steph Ken took the blame only to ensure you are not alienated from your only daughter.”
“You cannot fool me by telling white tales so that I can forgive your useless sister and bring her back I’ll never and am ready to meet your dad and damn the consequences I’ve been sharing my state of mind with him concerning his useless daughter.”
She is Hoyan first cousin whom she refer to as elder sister she came from the U.S on holidays when she heard the arguments between Singian and Hoyan she chipped in and gave her opinion;
“Sister Hoyan I agree with my little niece you should not have sent your step daughter away whatever the case might have been are you aware what public opinion would be? What would happen to her? If it was your own daughter you would not have sent her away whatever the case might have been; take her word I do believe her.”
“I don’t believe her she is fighting a case for that sister of hers my decision remain unchanged.”
She defied her madam by telling her off;
“Madam Hoyan waytin you do ino fine at all o ino fine if nayou pickin you no dey do so, Stephno stupid na savior emake eself dat tem Singian broke plate a see me eye but Stephno came from upstairs and be savior and true true Madam what ever case you no dey sent Singian away you too wicked bo!”
She rubbed her eyes and stared at Ruth;
“Are you the one who opened your rotten mouth and say such rubbish to me? For such insolence I deduct D500 from your salary.”
“Eno concern me at all o but ago tell you the truth you can even fire me ano care at all.”
“For firing you will be another day.”
Ruth Matty reflected and went back into the house.
“Wicked madam a gladdy don tell you me mind can deduct whole money anocare.” She hissed.
She wept and went on hunger strike until her mother promised to search for Steph Ken.
“What calamity is this stubborn child she wants to black mail me what am I going to do?” She turned to Singian and promised her;
“Eat your food I’ll see what I can do when I come from work.”
He opened the gate for a stranger who went straight to Singian bedroom he maltreated and assaulted her then left.
She came and found her daughter badly assaulted then she went straight and brought along some policemen she called Ruth Matty and Silas Saanor and handed them over to the security.
Her argument saved her;
“Me aday inside house dey cook it is Silas who open door for a big, strong man who went up and assault you pickin ask am.”
“Na we too do the deal Ruth de pan am.”
She scolded and chided Silas;
“You Silas Saanor after all what I’ve done for you, how can you opened my gate for a stranger to come and assault my child? Deal with him lock him away.” She then scolded Ruth to back into the house and do her work.
“A do dey harm your picnic after all what you do for me.”
Ruth Matty played her ruthless game she shut up everywhere to prevent Madam from escaping then she sprinkled petrol and went out to buy matches before going she threatened to burn the house and roast Madam alive.
She was panicky and pleaded for her life;
“Ruth spare my life don’t kill me let us discuss and I’ll change my ways towards you, after this I’ll not hand you over to the police and I’ll also increase your wages please don’t harm me.”
“You na wicked witch a no need anything from you if you die Boss go marry nice woman and good step mom for Ken.””
She rang her cousin Joyce;
“Ruth Matty is behaving funny as she threatened to burn the house and she has shut up all the openings from the house quick she has gone to buy matches.”
The Gate Opens
Ruth Matty came in and as she start to lit the match Joyce came with the security;
“Thank God!” She got relieved.
“Catch her!” Madam Hoyan alerted the police.
“Where is the key?”
“Search her pocket!” The pocket was searched and Joyce ran and opened the main door getting into the house as Ruth Matty was whisked away by the police.
She consoled her sister and warned her to be careful;
“Sister thank your stars what would have happen to you if I was not around? Always treat your workers with kindness why this amount of atrocity and hatred to lead Ruth Matty to such a destructive path? Also look at Silas Saanor these two incidents are not a coincidence your relationship with your domestic staff was not healthy at all and as you are blaming them also look inside to examine where you have gone wrong.”
“As the saying goes ‘your smelly mouth can only be pointed to you by a true sister’ I’ll do exactly that with my new batch of domestic workers thank you for saving my life from that devilish Ruth Matty and hern partner in crime Silas Saanor.”
She has been admitted at Dr. Kumba Njie Brown’ Clinic unbeknown to Steph Ken.
She came to visit her daughter Singian and met Steph Ken being assisted to walk by Dr. Kumba who has taken a great affection to her.
“Oh my daughter I have searched for you everywhere but to no avail come to me.”
“I am not your daughter wicked step mother you wanted me dead but a good Samaritan picked me up and adopted me I’ll never come back to you and whenever my dad returns I’ask him to transfer me to Aunty Kumba.”
