Real’s advantage with BYC to miss star players

on

By Sulayman Bah Real de Banjul has been offered an advantage with Liberian clubBYC of Liberia Barrack Young Controllers to be without four of their important players. Blamo Nimely who is the club highest goal poacher, Goerge Dauda,Karleo Anderson and goalkeeper Allenton Semgbeh –all first team regulars –wouldn’t be part of the Liberian club’s traveling squad to the Gambia. Nimley, suspended by the club technical director, is trimmed from the Go Blues’ roster for disciplinary issues while Duada, Anserson and goalkeeper Allenton are left out for unimpressive showings. The quartet star players played a crucial role in the first-leg one-all draw against Gambian champions Real and their exclusion would be to RDB’s advantage this weekend with the second-leg venue now confirmed to be in Banjul 3:00 pm. Benjamin Gbarmy, serving a ban imposed on by the Liberian Football Association, has since been named as a possible replacement for one of the players downsized. BYC officials are, according to reports, lobbying with authorities to have the left-footed midfielder pardoned ahead of the clash. Roberts Lartey gaffer of the LFA league winners, in another development, admits to pressure of having to play their second-leg in Gambia but is confident of pulling off an upset in Banjul. Meanwhile, Real de Banjul’s captain goalkeeper Alagie Nyabally has talked tough ahead of the club’s weekend clash vowing to pick the staked points. The erstwhile Bakau United net-minder is joined in the chorus by coach Amat Cham who expressed optimism. The return leg of the Orange Caf Champions League preliminary qualifier round is being staged in Gambia as a neutral venue on Caf’s suggestion after Mali jilted the chance to host it reportedly for fear of ebola spread.  ]]>
