Norwegian outfit signs Gambian youngster

Gambian prospect Jibril Bojang is on the path to playing professional football this year after inking a contract with Jibril BojangStart of the Norwegian Premier League.

Start are languishing at bottom of the 16-team championship with their striking force on a torturous run of profligacy on goal, a glaring testament of the side’s shocking standing in the league.

And looking to refresh a department that promised much at start of the season and yet delivered little, the club stepped in to recruit Jibril Bojang to help ease off the scoring worries dogging the team.

The 21-year-old who impressed the club on trial prior to putting pen-to-paper on a two-year contract will add dimension to the squad with his speed and power.

‘I’m big and strong and have good speed and can challenge well,’ the erstwhile Valarenga youth playmaker says in the aftermath of his unveiling.

‘Now I’m finally in the right place (at Start). Steinar seems like a very good coach and I’ve heard many good things about him from my buddy Ohi Omoijuanfo,’ he says on what convinced him to ink the 2-year contract.

Born in Norway but ardent on switching his commitment to Gambia, Bojang can play a striker at right wing and midfield.

His recruitment it is being hoped helps wriggle Start out of the dungeon they found themselves in to avoid demotion.
