Njie to return after 4 months out

Bulgaria-based Gambia footballer Bakary Kambi Njie is due to kick the ball again following a five-month spell Bakary Kambi Njie2on the pitch fringes owing to injury.

The 27-year-old striker had his knee operated after being heavily clamped down on while playing for Chernomore CF in a domestic league match.

The former Espanyol forward spurred his club to the Bulgarian Cupin in which he scored the match-winner but saw his season go up in smokes due to injuries and the latest one was the last straw.

Club doctors’ tests showed he broke his cartilage forcing him to go under the knife in Spain where he’s currently completing his rehabilitation process.

It was first feared he wouldn’t play till next year March. He has however recuperated quickly and is now touted to start training at least this November.

The injury was an ill-timed, one hitting at the moment he was about to make his first appearance in the Europa League qualifiers.
