Scorpions’ captain Omar Colley has spoken tough outlining his intention for Genk to sail past the Europa LeagueAbdou Jammeh Gambia’s captain stage.

Genk remains joint-top of their group on three points and face Laliga outfit Athletic Club October 20th and Colley reckons his side to begin an upward trajectory to reach the last 16.

‘In the Uefa Europa League, we lost our first match in Vienna after we won from Sassuolo. With these three points, we remain top of the group. We endured a deefat in one of our games but now that we have recovered I’m confident the current stride will continue for us to reach the next round,’ the 23-year-old said.

The Belgian top tier is on a breather owing to the international break and th ex-KuPS defender made the most of the occasion to visit his former club Djugardens IF.

Colley left the  Stockholm-based side on a reported two million euros fee in August to join Bekgian league giants Genk. He said upon his return to DIF: ‘I am very happy to be back in Stockholm. I miss everyone here, my teammates. The team is like a family to me. But Belgium is also very nice. I’m trying to adapt because it’s different. But everything you do in football is simply a challenge I think. I’m ready for it’

Comparing Swedish football to what is being played in Belgium, the Scorpion volunteered, ‘Swedish football relies more on the physique; there is more walking in the pitch. In Belgium, it is technical. The ball must do the work and we have a good team’
