By Sulayman Bah The Youth and Sports minister has described the absence of the erstwhile Gambia Football Federation president, Mustapha Kebbeh, at Saturday’s Consultative Forum as “unfortunate.” Kebbeh whose leadership was ousted and replaced by FIFA with a five-member Normalization committee, was among the key officials expected to grace the crucial football stakeholders’ forum held at the Independence Stadium over the weekend. The conspicuous absence of the former federation top executive was noticed by some of the participants. “The objective of this forum has been achieved and the response is positive. I am not aware of that (on Kebbeh’s absence) and it is unfortunate. This is a united family and everybody is important. We would have ensured he is present had we known earlier,” Alieu K. Jammeh, the Sports Minister, told reporters on the fringes of the forum. When reached for comments yesterday evening regarding his absence at the forum, Kebbeh told Foroyaa Sport: “I don’t want to go to that side. But some of our people have been invited and we were allowed to present our plan which stakeholders are happy with.”]]>
