The Coalition in a press released issued yesterday has indicated that it is gearing up for nomination of Mr. Adama Barrow, who has resigned from the United Democratic Party (UDP) to contest as an Independent Candidate. He is supported by the coalition of opposition parties comprising GMC, GPDP, NCP, NRP, PDOIS, PPP, UDP and the Independent.
Mr. Barrow’s nomination as a Presidential Candidate is scheduled for today, Wednesday, 9 November, 2016. According to the release all those who are supporting Coalition 2016 are being invited to converge at the Buffer Zone at 9am in order to accompany the Independent Candidate to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for his nomination at 12 noon. This will be followed by a rally at 5pm at the Buffer Zone.
Meanwhile the IEC has issued a press release yesterday informing the public that Mr Barrow has resigned from the UDP in order to enable him contest as an Independent Candidate for the Opposition Coalition in the 1st December 2016 Presidential Election.
